Pro Evolution Soccer 2009
Pro Evolution Soccer 2009 (often referred to as PES 2009) is an football (soccer) video game in the Pro Evolution Soccer series by Konami.
-------Demo----------
A PES 2009 demo is set for release before the release of the full version. The demo should feature various international teams, which you will able to use in a 5-10 minute exhibition with 4 players on the Xbox 360/PC version and 7 players on the PS3 version.
-----Wii version-----
Building on the control system of its predecessor, PES 2009 expands on the basic concept of players controlling both the player with the ball and those around them. PES 2009 will bring the user closer to the game by introducing different control methods which cater for a wide range of play styles.
PES 2009 for Nintendo Wii will feature a number of key additions, with an enhanced shooting system offering more control. The development team has also reworked the defensive elements of the game, with more control over defenders and more ways to close down attacking threats. A new AI system has also been implemented and results in more sophisticated and intuitive movement from team mates according to the player’s commands.
-----Mobile Version-----
Konami’s mobile version of PES 2009 will be released alongside the home versions in Autumn. Following the success of the mobile version of PES 2008, the new edition now features multi-player capabilities via Bluetooth. The game also refines the one-button control system of last year’s game and features enhanced goalkeeper AI.[
------Gameplay-------
Gameplay has been improved for Pro Evolution Soccer 2009, with key additions such as an improved Teamvision system, with tactics changing according to situation, better off-the-ball movement such as running to receive passes, etc and the AI recognizing strategies that work and it accumulates data on an ongoing basis within Master League and League modes. Another new addition is the readjustments for ball movements, and PES 2009 has new air resistance calculations for the trajectory of the ball. The heaviness of the ground also impacts the gameplay. There will also be new friction routines to affect ball movement in terms of ground conditions, backspin routines are calculated so that ball slows accordingly, and the bounce of the ball can be used more effectively: players can flick the ball up to tee a shot, or to lift it over a defender’s trailing leg. Skills are now integrated more into the game. If a player has the ability, they will be able to perform deft turns. There will also be adjusted controls to make close control more intuitive. All new Manual Passing and there is no slowdown in replays or matches.

Konami have announced that they have obtained the rights to the UEFA Champions League for the next 4 years.
-------Stadia-------
Konami have agreed a three-year deal with Wembley Stadium to be featured in the game. It is expected that all stadiums from Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 will also be in the game.
------Cover--------
Lionel Messi will appear as the cover image of PES 2009. As part of the new agreement, Lionel Messi will feature on the box of all versions of PES 2009 when it is released later this year, and will also feature in promotional materials for the game.
